Today I headed to Sutro Baths because the clouds decided to come back to the Bay. The past few days have been to hot and boring clear blue skies. When I got to Sutro Baths I knew I had to venture further over towards the Land Ends cliffs. The clouds and the rocks were playing pretty nicely for me. This shot is 136 seconds at f/16 ISO 50. A picture is a moment for me. Everyday I try and get out and experience these moments, no matter where it is, I just have to be somewhere.

Today I headed to Sutro Baths because the clouds decided to come back to the Bay. The past few days have been to hot and boring clear blue skies. When I got to Sutro Baths I knew I had to venture further over towards the Land Ends cliffs. The clouds and the rocks were playing pretty nicely for me.

Here is a shot from +Lisa Donchak’s Sutro Photowalk last month. There wasn’t much of a sunset but it made nice for some long exposures. To get shots like this I use my trusty LEE Big Stopper (10-stop Neutral Density Filter) and process them using Silver Efex Pro 2.

The Evening Flow on Flickr.Via Flickr: Took this back in February on Baker Beach. While walking to the end of this beach, I knew I was going to want something to comp into the foreground. Further up on shore there is always lots of driftwood and branches that get pushed up on shore, so I went looked around for the best one. As I like to say, if the scene isn’t there make it yourself! So I dragged this down the beach and set it up. The swells will move it around so you have to be quick getting it while its not moving. It’s amazing how much this branch did for this shot. That hike as never been so terrible, now that I am carrying a track setup, which means two bags and over 40 pounds of gear. But man, it was so worth it! Here is my favorite shot from todays journey. At around 8pm we couldn’t see 5 feet in front of us so we headed out. We ran into Joe, Casey, Max and Rob at the top. They tell me its looking epic again so I might just have to head back over to Hawk Hill to get some night stuff.
