Almost forgot I stopped in Death Valley a month back. I wasn’t there long but got to shoot sunrise at Zabriskie Point. This shot is facing away from the point though!

Path To The Rat Rock
This is one shot I really liked from the photowalk this weekend. I have processed it in B&W, my Gotham style and this. I never like when I am stuck between so many options :) Here is the B&W version if your interested. www.flickr.com/photos/tobyharriman/8364606295/in/photostr…
Zabriskie Point on Flickr.
Via Flickr:
It was Saturday morning and I was about to embark on my 18 hour journey back to Colorado. Originally I planned to drive my buddy back to Reno and stop in Lake Tahoe for sunset. But after looking at weather and road conditions, I knew that was not a good option. The lower route it won and my buddy Laith decided to fly.
After sitting in 2mph traffic for a few hours I knew I was going to mis sunset completely and started planning for sunrise. A few people on G+ helped me out with locations in Death Valley, as I knew nothing and it was too spur the moment to plan ahead. I got to the parking lot at Zabriskie Point at 11pm and just slept in my car. It was around 37 to 47 degrees out, so it wasn’t the best car camping conditions! But waking up and walking a few hundred feet up this hill, to see this, was definitely incredible. It sure is weird driving in to a place in complete darkness and and waking up to see where you ended up. Unfortunately there were no clouds but the light here was great. Now its time to shoot in some snowy conditions! Happy Holidays everyone!

Eastern Point Lighthouse on Flickr.
Via Flickr:
Here is a shot from Eastern Point in Gloucester, MA which is just outside of Boston. We were in the area watching the Bluefin Blowout Tuna Tournament, which was also being filmed by National Geographic for their show, Wicked Tuna. It was all new to me, as I am no fisherman. We got their the first day just in time, as one team just brought in a 406 pound tuna. But the winning team caught a 582 pound tuna on day 2 to win a $9,000 prize. Only 2 Tuna’s where caught the whole tournament.
So after smelling fish for to long, we decided to chase some sunsets around this lighthouse. There were a bunch of spots I wanted to shoot here, it was an awesome area. I spent probably 10 minutes or so trying to find a composition though. Had a little bit of artists block I guess! This is a 5 shot HDR from just before the sunset. You can even see a Pirate Ship off in the distance at sea. After I decided I wanted a water foreground, so we headed in the other direction to get further out on these rocks.

A shot from the roofs. Tomorrow I will be headed to Boston to capture some city shots around there and see some old friends! It will be nice to get out of the fog for a little bit and a little vacation before school starts.

Been digging up some old ones. This was my first visit to Davenport to shoot. Since then I have been 3 times, and not to many other places. I need to do some more exploring down the coast.

Last night I had the honor of shooting and finally meeting #thejarvie +Scott Jarvie. A small group of us +Todd Sipes +Michael Bonocore +Tressa Crozier and +Maximilian Laue ended up at a pretty cool spot in Tiburon. I have never been to this area, so it was pretty cool seeing the Golden Gate the right and the city with Alcatraz and the Bay Bridge. Definitely a view I will be re visiting. Here is one shot that had a Coast Guard helicopter flying through. There were 2 copters and a coast guard boat spotlighting all over the water, looking for something.
